Response to LBA’s CLEUD application

April 01 2026

GALBA has submitted its response to the application by LBA for a Certificate of Lawful Existing Use or Development (CLEUD)

LBA’s CLEUD wants to make its most frequently used planes effectively exempt from the cap on the number of planes allowed to fly at night. That would mean thousands more night flights every year, mostly in the summer.

You can read GALBA’s detailed legal and factual submission here. It’s long but the first 13 pages tell you the most important points that we have made in challenging LBA’s application.

We don’t know how long it will take Leeds City Council to make a decision on the CLEUD application but it won’t be soon. Keep looking at our News Updates for an update on the news!
